Cebu – City Tour Day 1 (DIY)

I keep on reading blogs and asked some friends for their personal experience and itinerary before I came up with our own. We have chosen spots and activities that only Cebu can offer. I know mahirap and torn ka sa pag gawa ng itinerary, So if you will take this piece, I would be glad to help you somehow.

We booked our flights via CebuPac promo last year (2016),  We were able to secure one of the cheapest tickets (1,053php RT). Im with my sister during this trip so if you’re travelling alone or with group of friends, same expense lang din or better yet mas tipid pa.

We opt to take a morning flight so we can maximize our time kahit Day 1 palang. We arrived in Mactan Cebu International Airport at 7:30AM. Outside the arrival area, Turn to your right and you will see a queue of yellow metered taxi, konting lakad pa take the Bus loop going to SM City Cebu(METRO RAPID TRANSIT SERVICE INC). One way fare  for 25php only. Comfy with enough leg room and compartments for your baggage. Travel time aprox 30-45mins (MCIA-SM City Cebu).

As you arrive in SM take a short walk to the front side of the mall. You may ask the guard on duty for the directions on how to get in Sugbutel.(10mins walk/multi cab) Sugbutel which is just around the corner is a decent Hostel with Private and Dorm Type rooms. I’ll tell you, staying here really made my Cebu trip worthwhile. They offer Business Class and First Class for the dorm rooms. Comfy beds, Clean T&B, and perfectly working AC’s.  Feeling ko nasa cabin ako ng Superferry that time.

Magellan’s Cross – The Cross of Magellan is a popular historical landmark and tourist attraction in the middle of busy Magellanes Street. This important symbol of Cebu was planted by Magellan in April 14, 1521 when he baptised the first Christian Filipinos

Inclusive of Sirao flower farm, Taoist Temple,Tops Lookout, and Temple of Leah. Habal habal was 350php/head, Such a pretty good price since the locations are far away from each other. We started at 2PM, ended at 7pm.

You can contact kuya Raymund thru (+63 933 113 1755)

Sirao Flower Farm
Entrance Fee: 50php
Food Stalls: Small Sari-sari store

Dubbed as the Little-Amsterdam, Sirao Flower Farm is one of the newest attractions in Cebu. A huge perimeter of the farm is blooming with Celosia flowers. The best time to go to the flower garden is when the sun is up. (or the Golden hours ofcourse!) So weather checking is a must before heading there. A perfect angle of pictures are best taken during a sunny day. Roads are also slippery when it’s raining making it unsafe to travel.

Tops Lookout (My personal Favorite)
Entrance Fee: 100php
Food Stalls: Available

Atop of the Nivel Hills overlooking Cebu City is Tops Lookout. Offering a beautiful panoramic view and the surrounding islands (Mactan Island and Olango). At a height of 610 metres it’s a great place to visit at sunset and watch City lights come alive. Not only that it offers an escape from the city noise, pollution and heat. In the late afternoon they are starting to prepare the barbeque grillers, and cold beers there are a few stalls up there selling snack foods and drinks. If I knew then, I would prefer to go on the night time. As which you can enjoy the city lights of metro cebu while having a cup of coffee or a bottle of beer, Thinking about life and in between! Oh! For couples out there, this place is one of the most romantic places to bring your love ones.Might yet do the romantic proposal haha! This actually looks like the Cloud 9 or Padis Point in Antipolo.

Temple of Leah A tribute of Love
Entrance Fee: 50php
Food Stalls: Available

Love made “Temple of Leah” made possible as Teodorico Adarna, father of actress Ellen Adarna and owner of Queensland motels, offers the construction of the huge edifice to his wife Leah Villa Albino-Adarna.

“This Temple was constructed in the year 2012 A.D as a symbol of my undying love for her and my ceaseless devotion to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna,” he noted on their FB page.

And because this was made out of love, it doesn’t only welcome visitors with the spectacular view of the city but also with the warmth of the place. As you approach the temple, you will be in awe of the gigantic gold lions at each side of the stairs leading to the entrance. As you enter the doors of the building, the grand staircase will leave your mouth hanging. Some of those who have already visited the place described that they feel like they’re in ancient Rome. It would take years of saving for most of us to be able to afford to go to Rome, so visiting this place would perhaps suffice, eh.

After we finished the City tour, we went back to JY Square to have dinner (Jollibee will do bes!) It rained a little, so we still have to wait and decide if we will push through with Sky Adventures. Fortunately, few minutes later the rain stopped.
